EYELID MALPOSITIONS -ENTROPION, ECTROPION AND RETR

It is important for the eyelids to be in the anatomically normal position to function effectively for an appropriate blink, good tear production and drainage. Malpositions of the upper and lower lids can occur due to age, trauma, sun damage, or prior surgery. The lid can become retracted or rotate inward (entropion) or outward (ectropion). This can be very symptomatic for patients resulting in irritation, tearing, pain, and sometimes lead to infections.

The surgical approach taken will depend on the factors that led to the malposition of the eyelid. Dr. Parbhu is fellowship trained through the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery so she has an added level of expertise when it comes to complex eyelid issues. She will determine the best surgical plan to ensure the best anatomic result possible for optimal eyelid function and ocular health.
